Stop, Step, and Reimagine -- Luke 24:1–8 -- Pastor Dr. Alton McKinley
Stop looking for life in dead places. In Luke 24:1–8, the empty tomb invites us to stop rehearsing the past, step out of shame and regret, and reimagine our future through resurrection power.
Why do we look for the living among the dead? In Luke 24:1–8 (KJV), the women arrive prepared for a burial—but meet resurrection instead. This message calls us to three moves:
1. Stop seeking life in dead places—old habits, toxic voices, yesterday’s failures.
2. Step up and step out—Jesus didn’t stay in the tomb, and neither should we.
3. Reimagine your future—through the same Spirit that raised Jesus, your identity and direction are being rewritten.
If God has already pulled you out, don’t live shackled to what He’s freed you from. You’re not your past; you’re God’s promise in motion. Let the risen Christ redefine how you think, walk, and hope—starting now.
